Gap Spring 2011

I found myself browsing Gap's Spring 2011 collection and all I could focus my attention on was not the clothes, but the shoes. I think I am obsessed. When can I get a pair?!? I can not wait until next year :\BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Oh Land in New York

If you're in New York on November 8th go see Oh Land at
Brunch After Dark
61 Wythe Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11211
7:30p - 11:30p

Just Found - Oh Land

The beautiful Denmark native Oh Land was recently discovered by Epic Records and just recently released her US debut EP. It is out now streaming live on http://www.spinner.com/new-releases#/7 and for sale on iTunes. You should definitely check it out. She has an R&B vibe with an upbeat twist. One of her songs, "White Nights" has a Vampire Weekend feel in the intro. While "Sun of a Gun" reminded me of Kate Nash. My favorite song has to be "Wolf & I". Its slow and dark, what's not to like :)
If you enjoy what you hear on her EP and want more, her first album, Fauna, received critical acclaim in her homeland. I have not had the chance to listen to it but it is definitely on my list.

FREE MUSIC!?

Listen to Kings Of Leon's new album "Come Around Sundown" on www.spinner.com
While you're there check out the other albums they have streaming live. Let me know what you think! I am listening to their album right now and it is pretty awesome - I'll have more to say once I listen to them a few more times, but my first impression is a good one.

Next on the list will be Liz Phair. I remember hearing a couple of her songs a few years back. I am going to have to reintroduce myself. We will see how it goes :)

Yoga Update

So as I promised myself, I started my Yoga journey! It is amazing. After working 14 hour days for 6 weeks straight, I definitely needed Yoga to help me learn to clear out my head and focus on the moment (not the emails ...). The moment for me was being in the studio with the voice of my instructor and the sound of my breath. That was it. As simple as it sounds it was very difficult at first, but I got the hang of it. All to well I believe.

It is so great to be able to relax and be stress free, but at the same time (this may sound odd) it is nerve wrecking being sooo relaxed all the time. It has only been two weeks since I've been back from work, but I am so used to going 100 miles an hour and stressing and doing this and that. Now that I have time to focus on my mind and body's well being I feel - dare I say it - more uneasy ... It truly is an art to be able to relax. It is also an art to find balance in life. For me, I want to walk the fine line between chaotic madness and pure relaxation. That would be my happy medium.

I have found and am loving pure relaxation ... not to discredit this state of being but it is a prettier term for bumming :P.
So dare I say this but let the craziness find me! I am ready to find the balance. :)

La la la: Arcade Frickin' Fire

I was introduced to this fine band one calm summer evening a couple of months ago. On the hour ride back home I popped in the CD and invited thme into my life. Now after listening to all of their albums, reading articles, and going to their concert ... I sit here wondering - Why haven't I heard of them before?! I'm not complaining. Better late than never, right?

Listening to them for the first time in the car was great -- my first dose of Arcade Fire. Listening to them live was AmaZing!! The stage was dark and the only noise you could hear was the crowd settling down around you. From the darkness of the stage, outlines of bodies emerged. From that point on I was engulfed in the moment and the music. There were all songs I had heard before, but putting visual to the music made it that much more incredible.

Listen to them and thank me later :)
Speaking of thanks, I would like to thank M for introducing me to them :) I loved every moment of the show!!

The Wild Cow

The Wild Cow is a nice little vegetarian restaurant located in Nashville, TN and it is Amazing!

I ordered the Portobello Sandwich (marinated & grilled portabella cap with our homemade goddess dressing, roasted red peppers, sprouts & mixed greens on gluten-free bread) and a cold Watermelon soup ... YUM! And M ordered the Prince Fielder (marinated & grilled tempeh or tofu, avocado, tomato, sprouts, cucumbers, shredded carrots, onions, vegenaise, & spicy mustard on gluten-free bread) and hummus ... sigh ... so good :)

(Its ok ... you can wipe your mouth now)

It was packed with so much flavor. Melanie CoChran, co-owner of The Wild Cow, explains it perfectly.
"….the secret is simplicity and REAL food from the earth….that’s it."

Not only is the food amazing, but the story and the people that work there make it such a great place with good energy. Check out their website at www.thewildcow.com and if you ever are in Nashville, TN definitely try to stop in. It is totally worth it!

Eat | Pray | Love

It has been forever and two days since my last post.

When I started this blog a few months back, I had a plan - a very structured plan that I believe would really work in helping me make this blog interesting - I would do research on different topics every week (you know, give myself weekly assignments) and write about what it. I think this is partially due to the fact that I am a bit ... eek, controlling? ... and deadlines I makes me feel productive and comfortable.

Seeing as how I have not posted anything in months, that plan really backfired. I tried so hard to be creative (through lists ... I guess that was my first mistake) that I totally lost sight of what this blog really was for ... A place to voice my opinions ... on whatever topic I choose to write about ... whenever I want to write about them. So here is my first entry in what I hope will be a unstructured mess of a blog!

Loving: Sundresses

With the weather being so nice outside I find myself falling in love/needing the
perfect sundress. It is so easy to wear. You just pair it with comfy wedges, add some cute accessories, and carry a blazer or denim jacket for the cooler nights and you're good to go.
Here are some of my picks ...
